Weekend in New York City

That's right my son and I went to New York City. He is a Yankee fan and wanted to go back to see one more game before they move to the new stadium next year. The Friday morning before we left I reached a new low, 285. So I knew eating on the run and on vacation would be a challenge but I tried. It was so hot in NY, 97 during the game Saturday. I know I drank more than 64 ounces of water but that was not enough. But that was all I drank while I was gone.

Now for three big WOW's. First, unless you are over weight and have flown you will not understand the mental pain of asking for a extender for your seatbelt. But this time it clicked without an extender and had just a little extra strap left.

Second, my son wanted to cross the Brooklyn Bridge to take pictures of the sunset over Manhattan. So we walked across the bridge and, yes, it was long and hot but I made it without stopping. YES! Then we went to the park at the base of the bridge so he could take so more pictures. Side note, while at the park we witnessed a drug bust with about seven officers and one bad guy. Then came time for us to get back to the hotel. We walked back over the bridge and again I did it without stopping. When I got back to our hotel room I had muscles communicating to my brain I never knew I had. But I didn't care, I had just walked over the Brooklyn Bridge and back. Don't think I could have done it 3 months ago.

Can it get any better? Yes. Monday morning I got up and weighed before going to work and I had lost just under 3 pounds. So close to my goal of 275 at surgery. Now I have to get back to work to pay for the trip.
